#VECTOR TD PS3 UPGRADE#
Each comes with increasingly expansive deployment and upgrade costs but an appreciable difference in power. For instance, every tower can be upgraded to level 10, but there are also three tiers for most of the towers. Though the familiar elements are here - constant waves of ever-stronger enemies, towers that can be upgraded or sold, a set number of "lives" that are lost as each enemy sneaks past your defenses into the home base - not everything is rote tower defense mechanics. Unfortunately, they're not completely flawless either. But unlike a lot of the Minis that have hit lately, that doesn't mean things are entirely devoid of depth.

From the grid/line art-based visuals to the eight map options to the single, looping music track that damn near put me in a trance, there's really little here in the way of fluff even the story is a simple "aliens attacked, time to work in a simulator to improve repulsion skills" affair. This Vectoid has caused us the most problems, we think it is coated with some sort of armor. These are a real pain! They travel much faster than all of the other Vectoid types, fortunately our blue laser based towers can slow them.ĭon’t let the simple geometry of this Vectoid mislead you, it is as tough as the best of them, its main weakness is purple lasers, but seems to resist attack from blue. We quickly found that red lasers and rockets caused the most damage, green lasers seem to do very little damage.įortunately all our defenses can cope with air targets, the red lasers do not do so well, but green lasers do heavy damage. We have found that blue lasers inflict the most damage, however they show resistance to purple lasers. Each of them having their own strengths and weaknesses.īlue Spinners are the most common type of Vectoid. There are seven different types of Vecotoid for you to take out. Success is not based solely on the types of towers you select, but where you place them and what upgrade and bonus options you take. You do this by constructing towers along the path. The aim of the simulation is to eliminate the Vectoid threat before they reach the end of the path.

The simulator comes compiled with 8 of the most common paths used by these facilities and the full range of attacking towers at their disposal. The simulation is designed to train commanders in the art of defending facilities from the ongoing threat of the Vectoids. VectorTD is the codename for a computer simulation designed by one of our top boffins, Professor David Scott. Over the last few years we have managed to refine our abilities to defend ourselves, but we do not know the origins of these Vectoids, or why they are attacking us. The year is 2067, Earth is under attack from a race we have codenamed “Vectoids”. Here is a little glimpse of what the story will be like.
Robin tells us that everyone actually really likes this control scheme. You will then be prompted to select the tower you wish to place. Because there is no touch screen or mouse you will have to select on the map where you want to place a tower with the D-Pad. The control scheme has been changed a bit to fit the PSP. The game consists of 8 maps, all from the original Vector TD, along with all the towers. We were told that the game should be out by February at the lastest in the US. The rest of us will have to wait a bit longer due to the way that Sony handles certification in other regions. Well if you live in the EU you are getting this game on January 21st.
The first bit of info is probably the one most of you care about, the release date. Well after talking with the Community Manager over at, Robin Yang, we have some news about the title.
